RESUMO O trabalho em saúde está atravessado pela intensa dinâmica entre intenções e gestos, no seio da qual a construção do Sistema Único de Saúde agudiza questões relativas ao uso da força de trabalho e seu desgaste, ensejando o debate e a reflexão sobre a saúde de quem cuida da saúde. À guisa de ensaio sobre essa questão, este estudo envereda pelo campo discursivo das práticas de cuidado e da gestão do trabalho em saúde, buscando identificar convergências e aproximações entre a teoria da ‘psicodinâmica do trabalho’, que preconiza a centralidade da subjetividade dos trabalhadores, e as propostas da saúde coletiva brasileira sobre o trabalho em saúde e a produção do cuidado integral e humanizado.

ABSTRACT The work in health is crossed by the intense dynamics between intentions and gestures, within which the construction of the Unified Health System aggravates questions regarding the use of the work force and its wear, giving rise to the debate and the reflection on the health of those who take care of health. By way of essay on this matter, this study goes down the road of the discursive field of health practices and management of health work, in order to identify the convergences and approximations between the theory of work psychodynamics, which advocates the centrality of the subjectivity of workers, and the Brazilian collective health proposals on the work in health and the production of integral and humanized care.

RESUMO Frente ao conjunto de políticas de ciência e tecnologia existentes no Brasil, o texto reivindica um olhar diferenciado sobre a política de pesquisa em saúde. Isso decorre de sua magnitude física, de sua tradição histórica e de sua articulação com uma política pública de saúde na qual a intersetorialidade é valorizada. O texto se divide em três partes, precedidas de uma advertência sobre o impacto da conjuntura atual do País sobre a política geral de ciência e tecnologia. Em primeiro lugar, propõe uma abordagem metodológica para a definição das fronteiras da pesquisa em saúde. Em seguida, reivindica para o campo da saúde coletiva um papel de protagonismo na construção dessa política. Finalmente, apresenta e discute alguns desafios atuais postos para a política.

ABSTRACT Facing the Brazilian ongoing general science and technology policies, the text claims for a differentiated view on health research policy. This stems from its physical magnitude, its historical tradition, and its articulation with a public health policy in which intersectoriality is valued. The text is presented in three parts, preceded by a warning about the impact of current Brazilian situation on the general policy of science and technology. First, it proposes a methodological approach for the definition of health research boundaries. Then it claims for the field of Collective Health a leading role in the construction of this policy. Finally, it presents and discusses some of the current challenges posed to this politics.

RESUMO O objetivo deste texto é analisar, inicialmente, por uma vertente crítica, a produção da pesquisa social em saúde coletiva tendo como eixo norteador o ‘elo perdido’ entre teoria-e-método. Para tanto, optou-se pela modalidade textual de ensaio crítico, inspirada em Adorno e Meneghetti, que a defendem como forma de ultrapassar o pensamento para além das fronteiras do método. Toma-se como ponto de partida a frequente confusão entre ‘pesquisa social’ e ‘pesquisa qualitativa’ no campo da saúde coletiva como questão disparadora da reflexão. Ao longo do texto, a reflexão reaviva conceitos, teorias e as técnicas utilizadas na subárea das ‘Ciências Sociais e Humanas em Saúde’ como forma de discorrer sobre essa (des)conexão. Por fim, são apresentados limites e possibilidades da pesquisa social na saúde coletiva e o papel das Ciências Sociais e Humanas em Saúde na problematização do debate.

ABSTRACT The aim of this text is to analyze, initially, in a critical way, the production of social research in collective health having as its guiding axis the ‘missing link’ between theory and method. For this purpose, the textual modality of critical essay was chosen, inspired by Adorno and Meneghetti, who defend this modality as a way of overcoming the thought beyond the boundaries of the method. The starting point is the frequent confusion between ‘social research’ and ‘qualitative research’ in the field of collective health as a triggering issue for reflection. Throughout the text, the reflection revives concepts, theories and techniques used in the subarea of ‘social and human sciences in health’ as a way of discussing the (dis)connection. Finally, the limits and possibilities of social research in collective health and the role of social and human sciences in health are presented in problematizing the debate.
